This fall we will have a ten-week sermon series on the faith of Peter, tracing his faith development throughout his three-year personal faith journey with Jesus. We will begin with his introduction to Jesus, move to Jesus' call to follow him, Peter's courageous attempt to walk on water, his struggle with forgiving others, his questions about what's in it for him, his denial of Jesus, and finally his restoration after Jesus' Resurrection. Our own faith will be deepened as we travel with Peter. This will begin later this month.
And to enhance your spiritual growth, the regular Thursday evening Bible study will focus on the scripture passages on which the sermon series will be based. This new format begins Thursday September 2, 6:30 p.m. Participants will benefit by:
1. Discussing scripture in a group – learning from each other,
2. Gaining more from each sermon message and worship service by having already learned about the passage on which they are based,
3. Having creative input into the sermon and the worship sermon featuring each Bible passage studied,
4. Walking with Peter through the challenges and joys of following Jesus.
In addition to the Bible, we will use the book, "Footsteps of a Fisherman," as an additional conversation partner.
I hope you will take advantage of this unique offering to grow in your faith.
